Have you completed a Maryland Department of Labor (MDOL) registered apprenticeship and want to complete an Associate of Applied Science degree with a concentration in business management or construction? If so, the Skilled Professional Trades Management program may be for you.

Our program offers a path to a degree by the award of college credit, if you have completed a MDOL registered apprenticeship program and earned an industry certification and/or license. Apprenticeship completers will be awarded 12 credits for an apprenticeship program that spans four years and consists of 8,000 hours of direct work experience and a minimum of 576 hours of training. Applicants must also present written proof of a Maryland license or a national/industry certification. The applicable apprenticeship programs are:

  • Machine Repairer (Maintenance)
  • Maintenance Workers (Machinery)
  • 管道安装工
  • 水管工
  • 洒水喷头装配工
  • 静止的工程师
  • Steamfitter

Some residents of Maryland enrolled in this program by the first day of the term may be eligible for in-county tuition rates for courses required for program completion. You must confirm that this program still maintains a statewide program status before enrolling. Refer to the college’s 收银员的办公室 to confirm this designation.

The state of Maryland refers to the A.A.S. as a career degree, because it's intended to provide you with skills to enter the workforce. 在某些情况下, AACC has entered into transfer agreements that allow these degrees to transfer to select colleges. A list of active agreements may be found on this website. While this program is not intended for transfer, it’s a great opportunity for you to customize your program based on your professional needs. Previous successfully completed college work may also be applied where applicable.

Construction Management Concentration, A.A.S.

Want to become a construction manager, 估计量, 工头, 检查员, 现场代表, project manager or superintendent? The construction management concentration integrates principles of business management as applied to construction technology and includes training in the organization and management of both large and small construction projects. You will develop skills in project management, construction estimating, materials and methods of construction, and construction documentation.

Interested in running your own small business? The small business concentration helps you develop the  comprehensive skills needed to run a small company. 

You will be exposed to all aspects of today’s rapidly changing and technologically challenging business environment. This prepares you for careers in the global economy. Selecting a four-course area of concentration, rounded out with courses from a broad range of electives will permit you to enter a variety of business occupations. The groups of courses listed are examples of appropriate and logical selections in an area of concentration. Required courses cannot be used as area of concentration electives.
